Thorold Amateur Athletic Association Volunteer Bond Program

To encourage all Association members to become actively involved in the operation and success of the association.

Many of our Association members are unaware of just how much volunteer work and fundraising is necessary to operate and administer a quality hockey program.  The Volunteer Bond Program was introduced to encourage Thorold Amateur Athletic Association (TAAA) members to step forward and help.  The time commitment is not unreasonable and the help is beneficial and appreciated!!!!  Participation in the Volunteer Bond Program is a mandatory component of registration, and in no way does it exclude families from volunteering for their player's team.

Volunteer Hours Required

A minimum of 10 hours of Association Approved volunteer work is required to fulfill each families Volunteer Bond obligations per season.   There are many opportunities to volunteer throughout the season.

Value of Bond

$ 200 per family           (10 hours of Volunteer)
$ 100 U8 (JR. Hawks)    ( 5 hours of Volunteer)

Submitting the Volunteer Bond Cheque

All volunteer bond cheques (post dated for April 1, 2021) must be submitted prior to evaluations with the signed Volunteer Bond Agreement.  Cheques and forms must be submitted prior to any child's first time entering the ice .

All cheques will be returned  upon completion of volunteer time, and your form is submitted and approved.

Reporting Responsibility

It is each family's responsibility to report their bond hours, to ensure they meet the volunteer bond program commitment.  DO NOT rely on any other person to submit your hours.

If you do not receive your cheque back, assume that it will be cashed as your hours were submitted/received.

The following volunteer roles will qualify for a full bond:

Executive Members
1 Parent Rep

No, we need volunteers for every season.  We are working for one year at a time.  Once this year closes (April 30th of the current season) we move into a new season.  You can then begin to work off your bond before the season starts.
