Consolation Champions in the West Grey Tournament
Once again thanks to parents, coaches and kids for making another successful tournament happen. The kids had a tough start to the tournament by taking one on the chin for the first game against the Drayton Defenders in a 8-3 loss. That loss didn't sit well with them and they came back and played better against the West Lincoln Wrath in a 4-1 win. With the tournament being a one day event, we were able to push through to the Consolation Final. On short rest, the kids gave their best effort and we pulled out a decent weekend of hockey with a 6-3 win over the Walkerton Capitals. MVP of the tournament for Thorold as nominated by the referees of the match was Jack Gualtieri. Jack Gualtieri also received Player of the Game for the game against Walkerton.
A 3rd place finish was a good way for us to move forward towards the OMHA's.
