Hockey Referees/Officials Wanted for Upcoming 2022-23 Season

This message is being sent out on behalf of the Thorold Referee Association...

The Thorold Referee Association (the "TRA") is actively recruiting new and experienced Minor Hockey Officials for the 2022-23 season. Officiating with the TRA offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to minor hockey at levels ranging from Local League to AAA, covering a large number of games every year with leagues, tournaments, as well as playoff and playdown opportunities.

We are excited to continue our partnership with Thorold Minor Hockey with the hopes of seeking interest from Thorold Minor Hockey families who may have an interest in turning your passion for hockey into a part-time job.

We work with Thorold Minor Hockey to ensure all of their teams, players, and families have the proper amount of and level of officials at each game.

There is a need for NEW officials and experienced officials at all levels to support Thorold Minor Hockey and its game schedule over their multiple facilities.

Officials perform a vital role in the game at all levels, are the third team on the ice, without whom the game would not happen. The Hockey Canada Officiating Program is for anyone interested in officiating the game of hockey, from beginners to seasoned veterans.

To start officiating with Hockey Canada, a new candidate must meet the following criteria:

- Be at least 14 years of age by December 31, 2022.
- Have some hockey experience as a player or team official.
- Have good skating ability and a desire to learn.

The TRA offers a support network of experienced officials to guide and mentor NEW referees of all ages as well as on and off ice training and development.

If you are interested in getting started as a NEW official, or you are an experienced official, please visit our website by clicking here Thorold Hockey Referees for more details and contact information.

Thanks,
Thorold Referee Association
